Rotten Sun is an experimental stop‑motion film shot within the installation of Gravity’s Bitches at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Richmond Virginia. Using deliberately low‑tech animation—simple activations like a spinning sculpture or the frame‑by‑frame movement of a zipper—the film constructs a narrative through matter in motion. A plinth embedded with a stereoscope houses a disembodied voice, becoming both viewing device and character. The film extends the installation into time, turning sculpture into a dynamic body of perception and sound.
